One evening, on New Year’s Eve, it was near Midnight. Me and my mom were watching the New Year’s Eve Celebration. Then all of a sudden we heard arguing at her window, so I followed her to see what it is. There were 5 teens. 3 of them had guns and the 2 others didn’t. When my mom peeked out the window. They saw her and me, so one of them points the gun at me while the others are trying to shoot. My mom ducked down and I was still standing, so she pulled me down quickly. While she pulled me down, I saw the bullet pass me head and almost touch me. At that time I wasn’t paying attention and could of got killed. Then my mom reaches for the phone and calls the police. By the time she hung up they ran knows that they might get caught. If I got shot, I would probably have a mark or something. This issue is important to me because a lot of families become devastated and people want to live and be free and have no violence. And most parents don’t feel its safe for their kids to walk home or school or see something like that and may influence them to think its the right thing to do but its really not at all.

What do you think are the most important issues to address regarding gun violence in this country?
The most important issue regarding violence in this country is there are too many people dying from gun violence. Based on, “Los Angeles Times”, at least 756 american children have been killed by gunfire this year.” This proves that gun violence is killing too many children and they can’t experience life in this world and growing up. Another point made in, “NYPD crime data”, Police say 72% of this year’s murder victims were killed by guns. It’s usually around 57%. A lot of people are dying from guns and it is not fair.
